Transfer Co. Ballroom expands as live performance venue, bolstering downtown Raleigh music scene

Venue announces robust artist lineup as key booking partnerships and local collaborations unite to create a distinctive destination for live music

RALEIGH, N.C. (Sept. 7, 2022) – Transfer Co. Ballroom, downtown Raleigh’s one-of-a-kind live music, performance and event venue housed in the historic Transfer Co. Food Hall development, today announced it is expanding its event lineup to serve as a leading destination for live music and performances. The event calendar for Transfer Co. Ballroom kicks off with three, legendary Hopscotch Music Festival Day Parties from Sept. 8-10, featuring talented bands with musical styles ranging from rock to dream pop, punk to new wave. In addition, Tejon Street Corner Thieves, a fast-paced trashgrass and blues band from Colorado known for their original songs and high energy shows, is performing a free concert on Sept. 18 to launch into the fall music schedule.

“Whether it’s hosting PineCone Bluegrass Jam sessions throughout the year or serving as a venue for major concerts and festivals like Hopscotch, Transfer Co. continues to form a deep connection with downtown Raleigh’s live music scene,” said Jason Queen, founder and owner, Transfer Co. Ballroom and Transfer Co. Food Hall. “This dedicated commitment to host live events at Transfer Co. Ballroom is our way of carrying forward a long-standing tradition that means so much to our downtown community. As the city continues to evolve, we want to build on the great work done before us to attract and retain live music and performances. We don’t want to lose it, we want to be part of fueling it and become one of Raleigh’s go-to destinations for intimate, live music performances and quality acts.”

With the return of the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA) World of Bluegrass, the largest urban bluegrass festival in the world, Transfer Co. Ballroom is hosting IBMA’s Official Bluegrass Brunch on Sunday, Oct. 2 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annual brunch is designed to extend the festival atmosphere and offer intimate performances from some of today’s top bluegrass artists.
